The exceptional nature of this wine led bodegas Laukote to select only 3 hectares of low-yeilding 80 year old vines, something that is almost extinct in Rioja. The tremendous expression of both color and aromas truly make this wine unsurpassed within its area. In the mouth it reveals a magnificent structure of firm but refined and lively tannins that are very well incorporated with the rest of the wine together with prefect balance. 550 cases production. Having been made in the traditional fashion, the wine may have some precipitates in the bottle.

The 2005 Vendimia Seleccionada was sourced from 80-year-old vines. Purple-colored with legs that ooze down the glass, it proffers complex aromas of damp earth, espresso. incense, violets, black cherry, and blackberry compote. Elegant on the palette with a racy personality, it has plenty of ripe fruit. well-
concealed tannins, and a lengthy savory finish. Give it 4-5 years of cellaring and drink it from 2014 to
2025.
