Bodegas Laukote comprises 8.5 hectares of old vines located in the Término de San Ciñes estate, of which 7 are its own and most of them have been there for over 60 years. 90% of the production is Tempranillo (of which 90% is Tempranillo Antiguo and 10% is Tempranillo Peludo) and 10% is of the Viura variety.
The entire Bodegas Laukote estate maintains its natural 100% clay-lime soil, which enhances the quality of the grape at the expense of the production. Its old vines are cared for with great dedication, they are pruned in a manner which encourages the branches to grow close together and helps to increase the width of the trunk, as this also affects the quality of the grape. The Bodegas Laukote vines are just completing their incorporation into ecological production and have been practising biodynamic techniques on their vines since 2005.
